MDCAT Past Papers: Where to Find Them and How to Use Them

Real MDCAT papers are worth doing, but they are only useful if you get them from a reliable source and treat them as practice tests. Here is where to look and how to use them.

Where to find real papers

Which years should you focus on?

PapersHow useful?Why
2025 and laterHighestSame 180-MCQ pattern and uniform curriculum
2022 to 2024HighSimilar style, but totals and the syllabus may differ
2021 and earlierTopic practice onlyThe format, total marks and some of the syllabus were different

How to use a past paper properly

  1. Print it or cover the answers. Do it in one sitting, with a timer.
  2. Use a bubble sheet. Marking bubbles takes time, and that is part of the real test.
  3. Mark it honestly, and write your score down by subject.
  4. Review every wrong answer and every lucky guess. Write down why the right answer is right.
  5. Go back to the notes for your weakest units before attempting the next paper.

Chapter-wise practice by subject

Many students search for chapter-wise past papers because they want to practise by topic. Our unit pages let you do that with MCQs we wrote for the current syllabus:

A warning about leaks

Every year, rumours of leaked papers spread on social media and in WhatsApp groups. Most are scams or recycled old papers, and paying for one can cost you money, time and possibly your candidacy. Report suspicious offers to your conducting body and spend that time on practice.

Frequently asked questions

Does MDCAT Ace have past papers?

Not yet. We do not host scanned papers because we cannot yet check them against official copies. Our MCQs are written for practice in the MDCAT style and are not copied from official papers. We will say so clearly if that changes.

Are MDCAT questions repeated?

Topics come up repeatedly because the syllabus is fixed, but you should not count on identical questions. Learn the concept behind each question.

How many past papers should I do?

Quality matters more than number. Doing the last few years under timed conditions and reviewing every mistake helps far more than racing through ten papers.

Are old UHS papers still useful?

Yes, for concepts, but the syllabus and pattern have changed. Older papers may have different totals and subject splits, and some topics may no longer be included. Check every topic against the current syllabus.

Where can I find the MDCAT answer key?

Look on the official website of the body that conducted your test. Unofficial keys shared just after the exam can contain errors, so compare any answer you doubt against your textbook.
